Public Relations/Media Committee. This committee is the contact point for media.  Their responsibility is to promote Big Read events through the media and contact with different organizations.

Promotions Committtee. This committee will be responsible for creating innovative ways to promote and build a growing interest in the Big Read.  Potential activities may include online discussion groups (Facebook and MySpace), street theatre and chalking.

Kickoff/Final Celebration/Speakers Committee. This committee will be responsible for logistical organization and coordination for the major events for the Big Read. 

Book Discussion/Training Committee. This committee will be in charge of working with existing book clubs and literacy organizations.  They will help train discussion leaders and coordinate distribution of materials to these groups. 

School (K-12) Committee. This committee will be in charge of coordinating public and private school involvement with the Big Read through their own activities and classroom programming.  They will also work with involving parents and the home-school community.

Fundraising. This committee will be in charge of approaching various businesses and individuals for donations of time, in-kind, book sponsorship, and money for Big Read support. 

New Book Discussion Committee. This committee will be responsible for coordinating new discussion groups and study circles.  They will train discussion leaders.  They will work with the Distribution/ Bookstore committee to ensure each group has their books and materials.

Distribution/Bookstores. This committee will be in close contact with participating bookstores.  They will also coordinate distribution of books and drop-off sites for Fahrenheit 451.  They will also be in charge of ordering books, creating book packets and materials, and organizing and maintaining book displays.

Web Master. Updates and maintains the website. Contact him when you notice problems on the website.
